Advancing CCAM in Europe: Training, Insights and Upcoming Milestones

Summer is behind the corner but CCAMbassador is not taking any break!

For starters, the revamping of our Knowledge Base continues: new features, increased usability, new content, new sections. This month, a new collection of Training Materials dedicated to the Common Evaluation Methodology for CCAM (EU-CEM) has been published, tailored for different target audience and available freely for all users.

Furthermore, if you have questions about the EU-CEM, join our next EU-CEM Online Methodology Clinic on June 17th and engage directly with the EU-CEM team - more information and registration here.

Meanwhile, the EUCAD Symposium 2026 is getting closer and preparation is going full speed – the draft programme has just been published – while submissions start coming in for next year’s EUCAD 2027 Conference (9-10 June 2027, Brussels) Call for Sessions. .

Interested in CCAM evaluation? New to EU-CEM? Here’s an easy way to get started!

The European Common Evaluation Methodology for CCAM (EU-CEM) was published last year. To support its uptake, the CCAMbassador project has now released EU-CEM training and learning materials designed to help users become familiar with the methodology and handbook. Separate learning paths are available for evaluation teams and policymakers.

For evaluation teams, four videos and supporting materials provide practical guidance on how to get acquainted with the EU-CEM Handbook and methodology, and how to ensure its consistent and robust application. 

For policymakers, two videos and a one-page overview of the handbook offer a high level understanding of the scope of EU CEM and the value of using a common evaluation methodology in funded CCAM studies and initiatives. The materials also highlight how evaluation results can support informed, transparent evidence-based decision making.

4th Interactive Symposium on Research & Innovation for Connected and Automated Driving in Europe (EUCAD Symposium 2026)

8-9 October 2026

Geneva, Switzerland

Organised by CCAMbassador with the support of the European Commission Directorate-General for Research and Innovation (DG RTD) and the CCAM Partnership, the EUCAD Symposium 2026 will bring together public and private stakeholders from across Europe and beyond. 

The Symposium serves as a platform for exchanging experiences, discussing common challenges and strengthening cooperation between research, industry, public authorities and mobility operators.

This year’s edition will focus on some of the sector’s most pressing topics:

6th European Conference on Connected and Automated Driving (EUCAD 2027)

9-10 June 2027

Brussels, Belgium

The EUCAD Conference is a biennial event organised by the European Commission Directorate-General for Research and Innovation (DG RTD), in collaboration with the CCAM Partnership and CCAMbassador. 

The Conference consists of thematic sessions where thought leaders and experts share their insights and discuss latest developments and outstanding challenges in CCAM research, innovation, and deployment. An exhibition and demonstrations of CCAM initiatives and solutions are also accessible throughout the duration of the event.

A call for sessions is organised to receive proposals for the organisation of conference sessions related to one of the selected topics for EUCAD 2027. The deadline for applications is 31 July 2026.
