EUCAD events

The First European Conference on connected and automated driving (EUCAD) was organised by the European Commission in 2017, after which it became a bi-annual event, alternating with TRA (Transport Research Arena) Conference.

EUCAD is the only conference in Europe that brings together political leaders from the European Commission and Member States with European and international high level representatives of industry, academia and road authorities to discuss if technology and society are ready for the large-scale deployment of smart, sustainable and inclusive mobility solutions.

EUCAD conferences consist of a series of policy-oriented plenary sessions, complemented by thematic breakout sessions related to the main challenge areas for CAD development and testing in Europe and beyond.

Every other year, EUCAD Interactive Symposium on Research & Innovation (R&I) for Connected and Automated Driving in Europe takes turn.

EUCAD Symposium facilitates in depth discussions around specific topics for R&I activities in the form of interactive workshops.

EUCAD conferences are organised by the European Commission with the support of FAME, while EUCAD symposia are organised by FAME [1] with the support of the European Commission.

The presentation materials, sessions recordings and the proceedings reports from the past editions of EUCAD conferences and symposia are hosted under this section: check EUCAD 2017, EUCAD Symposium 2018, EUCAD 2019, EUCAD Symposium 2020, EUCAD 2021, EUCAD 2023.

[1] FAME builds on a legacy of EU-funded Coordination and Support Actions, namely ARCADE and CARTRE, which organised the earlier editions of EUCAD events.
