ReSKILLING launches the CCAM Employment & Skills Observatory

2 October 2026

The ReSKILLING project has launched the first operational version of the CCAM Employment & Skills Observatory, a tool providing structured information on how Connected, Cooperative and Automated Mobility (CCAM) is affecting employment and skills in the European transport sector.

The Observatory brings together information on employment, occupations, emerging job roles, skills requirements and reskilling needs. It combines results from the ReSKILLING project with selected external sources, scientific and policy literature, skills taxonomies and other relevant evidence.

The Observatory is designed as an interactive resource rather than a static repository. Users can search and explore the available information through structured categories and contextual filters. An AI-powered search engine also allows users to submit questions in natural language and receive evidence-based answers based on the Observatory’s curated sources.

The tool is intended for a range of stakeholders involved in the development of CCAM and its workforce implications. Policymakers and public authorities can use the information to support workforce planning and policy development. Transport operators, industry actors and technology providers can explore changing competence requirements and potential organisational impacts. Education and training providers can identify emerging skills and implications for future curricula. The Observatory also provides relevant information for workers, job seekers, professional associations, social partners and trade unions seeking to understand changing occupations, career pathways and reskilling needs. Researchers and European projects can use the structured information as a resource for research on CCAM and labour-market developments.

The current version is the first operational release of the Observatory. It will be further expanded and refined with additional ReSKILLING results and user feedback ahead of the final public version.
