
CHORUS Project Launches Tender for Zero-Emission Mobile Delivery Hub
CHORUS Project has published an open Invitation to Tender (ITT) for the provision of a zero-emission, autonomy-ready Mobile Delivery Hub (MDH) vehicle. The vehicle will support real-world logistics demonstrations in Oxford as part of the project’s ongoing activities.
The tender seeks a heavy-duty electric cargo platform, or an equivalent zero-emission solution, capable of operating as a micro-consolidation centre within a heterogeneous fleet that includes human-driven, remotely operated, and autonomous vehicles. The solution is expected to meet key technical specifications, including zero tailpipe emissions, a minimum payload capacity of 170 kg, at least 2.0 m³ of enclosed cargo volume, and a clear pathway towards remote operation or autonomy. Additional requirements include onboard computing and communication systems, integrated safety interlocks, and compatibility with standard mains charging.
The deadline for clarification questions is 1 May 2026, while tender submissions must be received by 18 May 2026 at 12:00 CEST. The contract award is expected on 27 May 2026, with implementation scheduled to begin on 15 June 2026.
The maximum contract value is set at €23,000 (including VAT) under a fixed-price arrangement. The contract will run from June 2026 through January 2028, with proposals evaluated on the basis of 80% quality and 20% price.
Within the CHORUS project, this procurement contributes to the demonstration of orchestrated CCAM services in Oxfordshire, integrating a range of delivery solutions including autonomous bicycles, vans, and robotic systems. The addition of a remotely operable Mobile Delivery Hub will further enhance the project’s exploration of advanced urban logistics concepts under Horizon Europe.
