Assessing the mobility equity level of CCAM systems
The EC project CulturalRoad is developing new methodologies for the fair deployment of Cooperative, Connected and Automated Mobility (CCAM) services that reflect cultural and geographical diversity.
To this end, the project implements a holistic Five-Pointed Star Rating System designed to evaluate, across different countries and based on cultural, geographical, and exogenous aspects of diversity, the level of mobility equity of CCAM systems within their specific environments. This system focuses on safety, inclusivity, user acceptance, network readiness, and psychological factors influencing usage.
The system will both use existing and newly collected data, following a participatory approach engaging industry, civil society, governmental authorities, and research institutes to identify stakeholders’ actual needs.
The project outcome will guide the development of tailored planning tools, adaptable roadmaps and SUMPs at local, regional, and national level for the deployment of CCAM that integrates cultural and geographical diversity, and thus enhances its societal acceptance.
