The CCAM project BERTHA has developed and validated a data-sharing infrastructure based on Apache NiFi and Kubernetes to enable automated, high-speed workflows that can efficiently handle increasing amounts of data across the project consortium. The new infrastructure creates a scalable and flexible environment that supports seamless collaboration between partners in secure and controlled environment.  Security and governance were key priorities during the development of the infrastructure. Incorporating secure transfer protocols, controlled access mechanisms, and robust data management procedures designed to protect sensitive research data while facilitating efficient information exchange among authorised users, the BERTHA infrastructure demonstrates how innovative digital infrastructure can accelerate research collaboration by improving efficiency, scalability, and security.

 Looking forward to BERTHA’s final event on October 21st, 2026, the consortium is migrating its data and services to the Phoenix cluster to sustain the project outputs well beyond its initial funding period. This strategic investment is designed to ensure that valuable datasets, workflows, and research tools remain accessible to the scientific community, supporting long-term impact and collaboration in CCAM research.
