Call for Expression of Interest for Cities & Regions to Collaborate on piloting and scaling CCAM in urban areas

The European Partnership on Connected, Cooperative and Automated Mobility (CCAM) invites urban and regional authorities to express their interest in closer collaboration to support the integration of CCAM solutions into urban transport systems, and thus achieving their goals for safer, more sustainable, inclusive and efficient mobility, while providing CCAM stakeholders with opportunities to pilot and scale their solutions.

Potential key areas of collaboration include:

• Defining operational and technical requirements to tailor urban infrastructure to CCAM.
• Integrating CCAM into transport management systems to ensure seamless operations.
• Testing and scaling urban CCAM pilots to evaluate real-world impacts.
• Identifying approaches to make CCAM solutions fit for cities.
• Establishing governance models that balance innovation, regulation, and public
• Measuring impact on efficiency, safety, environment, and social acceptance.

In doing so, cities or regions will have the opportunity to:

• Make Urban Mobility Efficient – Improve traffic flow, reduce congestion, and lower emissions.
• Increase Safety & Inclusivity – Deploy safer and more accessible transport solutions.
• Enable Scalable Pilots – Integrate CCAM innovations into existing transport networks
• Enhance Societal Readiness – Increase CCAM acceptance and uptake by participatory decision making.
• Shape Future Policies & Standards – Contribute to regulation that supports CCAM deployment.
• Leverage Regional Funds for CCAM – Improve complementarity with Horizon Europe calls.

Interested cities and regions are invited to submit their expression of interest to lina.becella@ccam.eu by 1 June 2025, stating

• their expectations from such collaboration
• their offer

Regardless of the outcome of the procedure, all applicants will be invited to a follow-up event to share their experiences and expectations.
