Autonomous Vehicles In The EU: Driving the Future

MEP Pierfrancesco Maran (S&D) is organising an event titled “Autonomous Vehicles In The EU: Driving the Future”, which will take place on Wednesday, 2 July 2025, from 15h00 to 17h00 at the European Parliament, Spinelli building – room 5E2.

The event will explore the field of autonomous vehicles (AVs), focusing on both the challenges and opportunities. It will take a broad perspective, bringing together representatives from public institutions working on mobility and private stakeholders investing in this fast-evolving sector.

It will start with an overview of their development in the EU and globally, followed by real-life examples highlighting the latest advancements in AV technology from both the USA and the EU, and conclude with a discussion on the policy and financial aspects of AVs, examining European and global approaches to regulation, investment, and infrastructure development.
