Free e-learning course on the opportunities provided by vehicle automation in urban contexts

The online course “Autonomous Vehicles: An Opportunity for Cities“, offered by EIT Urban Mobility explores the transformative impact of AVs in the cities of tomorrow.

What prerequisites for change are needed for automated vehicles to get deployed and benefit our cities from environmental and societal viewpoints? The course introduces the infrastructure, regulatory, and commercial challenges and approaches of sustainable AV deployment in urban mobility ecosystems:

• Explaining the possibilities that vehicle automation provides in urban contexts and how they can be applied;
• Presenting regulatory and infrastructure requirements of AV deployment;
• Evaluating the role of Autonomous Vehicles (AVs) in urban sustainability, considering environmental, social, and economic impacts.
• Discussing the promises and scepticism of autonomous mobility.

This course is open to everyone and designed to accommodate participants with varying levels of expertise, from mobility professionals, urban planners, to individuals interested in the practical deployment of autonomous vehicles in urban environments.
