Horizon Impact Award 2020 contest
The European Commission has launched a contest for the Horizon Impact Award 2020 edition, dedicated to EU funded projects which created societal impact across Europe and beyond. The prize will showcase achievements that have noticeable value for society. The prize is rewarded to the most impactful and influential projects under the EU research project Horizon 2020 and its predecessor, the 7th Framework programme (FP7, 2007 – 2013) that are closed and can show proof of impact.
Mariya Gabriel, Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth said “With this award, we want to highlight how EU-funded research can benefit citizens and society. We will put the spotlight on projects that have impact on the economy, environment or policymaking. I look forward to seeing many excellent examples of how EU-funded research makes a difference to our daily lives”
The contest is open for applications until 2 April 2020. Each of the five winners will receive €10 000 and the winners will be announced at the European Research and Innovation Days in Brussels in September 2020.
