Level 4 automated shuttles running at FM Logistic in Escrennes
FM Logistic, international logistics operator, and beti, specialized in autonomous mobility of goods and people, have held since June a pilot service with Level 4 (without safety operator) autonomous shuttles at the Escrennes logistics platform in France (closed site).
The pilot, implemented for a duration of 5 months in the framework of the SHOW project, includes 2 shuttles travelling nearly 40 km and transporting around 100 employees per day across the site.
The objective is to evaluate several parameters including the robustness of the technology in a real demanding logistics environment, the operational efficiency of a service without an operator on board, as well as the environmental impact and energy consumption reduction.
According to Benjamin Beaudet, CEO of beti, «this collaboration is essential to the exploitation of these new developments linked to automated mobility, as it allows to demonstrate the technology maturity and how it can transform logistics with more efficient and sustainable operations».
