A new wave of calls under the Digital Europe Programme
The European Commission has opened calls under the Digital Europe Programme, allocating over €210 million to projects to strengthen cybersecurity, digital and technological skills, and Artificial Intelligence.
In terms of cybersecurity, the funding namely supports the deployment of state-of-the-art cybersecurity technologies and tools, and Member States’ implementation of EU laws on cybersecurity and National Cybersecurity Strategies. The application deadline for all of cybersecurity-related funding is 21 January 2025.
Regarding digital skills capacities, the funding is namely earmarked for the design and delivery of higher degree education programmes in key digital technology areas including automation.
Finally, to advance the connection, development, and deployment of Local Digital Twins (LDTs) across the EU, the DIGITAL programme calls for projects to help cities and communities harness economies of scale in data platform development and AI-based solutions.
The application deadline for all the funding linked to digital skills and AI is 21 November 2024.
