New open Chips JU calls including Automotive Hardware Platform

The Chips Joint Undertaking (Chips JU) highlights the need for stronger alignment between the automotive and the hardware industry. In order to achieve such goal it has recently launched a call in collaboration with the European Commission in a pre-competitive R&I setting

Electrification, advancements in digital technologies, and the growing demand for connected and autonomous vehicles are driving the automotive industry’s transformation towards software-defined vehicles (SDVs). Furthermore, given the increasing centrality of AI to engineering, as well as the growing demand for hardware platforms, there is more and more need for reuse and standardisation. The recently launched calls respond to these topics and themes. These include:

• RISC-V Automotive Hardware Platform (HORIZON-JU-CHIPS-2025-IA-two-stage-FT1)
• AI-assisted Methods and Tools for Engineering Automation (HORIZON-JU-CHIPS-2025-IA-two-stage-FT2)
• Heterogeneous integration for high-performance automotive computing (HORIZON-JU-Chips-2025-IA-HPA)
