Horizon Europe call targets energy-efficient public transport and shared mobility

5 August 2026

A new Horizon Europe call is supporting the transition towards more energy-efficient and attractive urban and suburban mobility systems, with a focus on public transport and complementary shared mobility services.

The Energy efficient urban and sub-urban public transport, complemented by shared mobility topic (HORIZON-MISS-2026-04-CIT-01) will support projects testing and scaling innovative solutions around public transport, shared mobility, electrification, multimodality and urban mobility services. Projects can also explore the use of data, AI, new business models and policy measures to improve connectivity and modal shift.

Consortia must include at least three lead cities from different Member States or Associated Countries, alongside at least three follower cities. At least one lead city must be part of the EU Mission on Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities. The call also encourages collaboration between cities, researchers, public transport operators and mobility service providers.

The deadline for applications is 8 October 2026 at 17:00 Brussels time.
