Low-threshold handbook enabling users to familiarize with the SUNRISE Safety Assurance Framework (SAF); a framework that paved the road towards Type Approval and certification of highly automated and connected vehicles. The SUNRISE SAF is founded on relevant international standards and regulations and has been aligned with experts and twin initiatives worldwide. Its application has been successfully demonstrated by a Type Approval Authority, as well as a variety of Use Cases.

Besides explanations of the SUNRISE Safety Assurance Framework (SAF)and its blocks, the SAF handbook also contains application guidelines, application examples, a portfolio of tools and services, and a virtual assistant that answers questions based on the combined pool of SUNRISE deliverables. The SAF application guidelines form an excellent resource for regulators, certifiers and manufacturers, by providing step-by-step guidance through the entire SUNRISE SAF.
