October Multicluster Meeting of the CCAM Partnership
The October edition of the CCAM Multicluster meeting took place in Brussels last week. 2024 is the time when the CCAM Partnership needs to take stock of running projects’ results, and evaluate its impact on future calls for projects.
The meeting was the opportunity to discuss which project results can be integrated into large-scale demonstrations, and which research needs can be postponed till the next Framework Programme, on the basis of input from running CCAM Partnership projects sharing their preliminary results.
CCAM Partnership projects SINFONICA and MOVE2CCAM (from the thematic area of “Societal aspects and people needs”) presented their results on CCAM user needs analysis and recommendations for large-scale demonstrations deployment.

Key takeaways from the meeting include:
- The discussions highlighted the crucial role of tools and instruments such as the Common Evaluation Methodology or the taxonomy (from the FAME project) for future projects;
- Testing exemptions and how to obtain them needs to be considered from the beginning of a project (even at the proposal preparation stage) not to impede the launch of the demos;
- ODD coverage will be key and the CCAM Partnership can play an important role in supporting harmonisation between EU Member States through cross-border applications;
- Working with local administrations and mobility planners is essential to ensure that demonstrated use cases answer the actual local needs;
- Wide participation of users and customers in the demonstrations supports collection, and understanding, of their perceptions before and after.
