New CCAM factsheets offer an international view of mobility research and innovation

15 October 2026

Launched at the EUCAD 2026 Symposium, the CCAMbassador factsheets provide an overview of the Connected, Cooperative and Automated Mobility (CCAM) landscape in seven countries and regions, helping stakeholders compare strategies, research priorities and pathways towards deployment.

Connected, Cooperative and Automated Mobility (CCAM) is an important enabler of safer, more efficient and sustainable transport. As technologies and markets evolve rapidly, understanding developments beyond Europe is essential to assessing Europeโ€™s position in an increasingly competitive global landscape.

To support this understanding, CCAMbassador has developed a set of factsheets covering China, South Korea, Japan, the United Arab Emirates, the United States, the United Kingdom and the European Union. The factsheets were launched during the EUCAD Symposium 2026, held on 8โ€“9 October in Geneva, Switzerland, which brought together stakeholders to discuss key challenges for CCAM research, innovation and deployment in Europe and beyond.

Comparing national CCAM landscapes

The factsheets provide a structured overview of each country or regionโ€™s CCAM research and innovation landscape. They identify key national stakeholders and strategy documents, outline current research priorities, and present information on relative fleet sizes and technological building blocks. Links to relevant organisations and source documents also enable readers to explore each landscape in greater depth.

By bringing this information together, the factsheets make it easier to compare approaches to automated driving, connected mobility, digital and physical infrastructure, research and development, and regulatory frameworks.

Such comparisons can help identify technological strengths, deployment gaps and emerging best practices. They also offer insight into how different countries are progressing from research and testing towards real-world deployment, scale-up and market uptake.

For European policymakers, researchers and industry stakeholders, this international perspective can support evidence-based research and innovation decisions, help anticipate global trends, and inform efforts to build a safe, interoperable and competitive CCAM ecosystem.

A growing, living resource

The current collection is only the starting point. CCAMbassador plans to publish further country analyses covering Canada, Australia, Singapore, Switzerland and Norway in the coming months.

The factsheets are intended to be living documents and will be updated regularly as new information becomes available. Stakeholders with relevant information or comments are invited to contribute by contacting info@connectedautomateddriving.eu.
