A new technical framework for displaying TN-ITS data
Last modified on 25 July, 2023Recently, TN-ITS (the Transport Network ITS ERTICO innovation platform) collaborated with the University College of Leuven Limburg (UCLL) on a project to display TN-ITS data from various European road authorities.
The project, led by two Computer Science students, developed a technical framework using Python code to download and validate XML files from Flemish, Dutch, and Finnish TN-ITS services. This data, containing information on maximum speed limits, was loaded into an SQLite database and utilized to create an interactive web application. The resulting dashboard allows users to easily view and explore maximum speed limit data in different countries and during specific periods directly sourced from the road authorities.
