Amendment to the 2023-24 Work Programme of Horizon Europe

Amendment to the 2023-24 Work Programme of Horizon Europe

23 April 2024

The amendment recently adopted by the European Commission mobilises previously unallocated research and innovation funding for the green and digital transitions and increases the 2024 budget by nearly €1.4 billion.

It includes an investment of nearly €650 million in the EU Missions to support local and regional authorities face climate-related challenges. Among other novelties, a budget of €76 million aims to foster young researchers to focus their work on a subject of their choice within Horizon Europe Clusters, including that addressing “Climate, energy and mobility”. Also aiming to attract newcomers to the programme, the New European Bauhaus (NEB) call “Transforming neighbourhoods”, making them sustainable, and inclusive, aims to bring the benefits of the European Green Deal into people’s daily lives and living spaces.
