Driverless vehicles on German public roads by 2022

Last week Germany adopted legislation that will allow companies to deploy robotaxis and driverless delivery services on public roads by 2022.

While autonomous testing is currently permitted in Germany, this would allow operations of autonomous vehicles without a physically present driver behind the wheel, in specified operating areas of public road traffic in regular operation.
