ERSAs 59th Congress, titled “Cities, regions, and digital transformations: Opportunities, risks and challenges”, will be taking place on 27-30 August in Lyon, France. It will host a variety of themes in spatial, regional, and urban economics, economic geography, and regional policy topics like local governance and institutions.

Featured in this years programme is a special session (S66-S1) on assessing the impacts of automated driving and automated mobility. During this session ARCADE partners University of Leeds and VTT will be presenting on the topic of: Impacts of automated transport on cities: How to discuss and study impact mechanisms. The topic will be presented on Friday, 30 August from 11:00 to 13:00.

Each year the congress attracts approximately 800 participants from all over the world. With the ambition of having a stronger interdisciplinary dimension featuring contributions from social science, engineering and big data, ERSA has become the largest academic conference in regional science worldwide.
