FOT-Net International Workshop: Strategies for sharing data and knowledge

FOT-Net International Workshop: Strategies for sharing data and knowledge

17 Sep 2018 - 17 Sep 2018

Copenhagen, Denmark

FOT-Net is arranging its 11th international workshop in conjunction with the ITS World Congress. FOT-Net was established in 2008 as a European Commission’s support action with the mission to create a networking platform for stakeholders interested in Field Operational Tests (FOTs). FOT-Net has tackled common working issues and fostered cross-region cooperation. The three regions (Europe, Asia-Pacific and North America) cooperate on common FOT and pilot issues, such as data handling and sharing, methodology and deployment. The European project CARTRE operates the network activities during 2017–2018.

With CARTRE focus on automation, the 11th international workshop will discuss how to further develop the knowledge base and data handling and sharing to suit connected automated vehicle pilots. This activity aims to facilitate exchange of information on experiences from automation pilots and data sharing between the three regions. The workshop is targeted at people active in data management and sharing, people performing FOTs and pilots, decision makers in private and public organizations, data experts and transport researchers. We strongly encourage the participants to bring their own questions and experiences.

The topics we want to address in this workshop are:

  • Policy and funding to promote data provision
  • Automation impact – what data is needed to find the answers
  • Sharing of knowledge base

In the workshop we will have presentations on the topics from the three regions. Selected data sharing success stories together with the lessons learned and the CARTRE data sharing strategy will be presented. There will also be discussions in small groups addressing the topics and exploring potential solutions.
