Webinar on Scenario-based testing methodologies for safety assurance of Connected and Automated Mobility Systems
13 Dec 2023
Online
13:00-14:00 CET
Safety assurance of automated vehicles is crucial for their successful adoption and deployment in society. Worldwide, several initiatives have started to develop test and assessment methods for automated vehicles, applying a scenario-based approach, and combining both physical and virtual testing. However, the lack of a common European validation framework, and homogeneity regarding safety validation procedures, hampers the deployment of CCAM solutions.
The SUNRISE project will specify and demonstrate a harmonized and scalable Safety Assurance Framework that fulfils the needs of the different stakeholders involved in testing and safety validation of CCAM systems, from developers and Certifiers to Researchers and tool developers. To achieve this goal, SUNRISE will establish a European federated database centralising detailed scenarios for testing of CCAM functions and systems in a multitude of relevant test cases, with standardised, open interfaces and quality-controlled data exchange.
The topic of this webinar will be scenario-based testing methodologies for safety assurance of CCAM: the definition of the SUNRISE methodology to support the safety argumentation, and the first related report analysing existing methodologies and relevant standardization efforts to identify best practices and gaps to be addressed in SUNRISE.
