HEADSTART: New data format developed by ika-RWTH Aachen
Ika-RWTH Aachen has developed a HDF5 based data format to store reference and perception data from pilots, test drives and simulations in urban settings. It contributes to the Verification and Validation Methods (VVM) project by combining information from several sources into a single file with the aim to unify the data basis for scenario derivation by connecting all layers of the 6-layer model. The development of HDF5 builds on insights gained from the PEGASUS and L3Pilot projects.
The specification together with libraries for writing and reading such files are made open source under the MIT license and can be found at https://github.com/ika-rwth-aachen/omega_format
