Launch of EU-funded coordination project FEDERATE

The FEDERATE project, funded by the Chips Joint Undertaking and Horizon Europe Framework Programme, kicked off in Munich on October 5, 2023. With a budget of 1.9 million EUR, this three-year initiative involves 29 partners from seven countries. Its goal is to drive the advancement of Software-Defined Vehicles, bringing together stakeholders from automotive and semiconductor industries to foster an open ecosystem for future vehicle development. The project aims to create a common understanding between software and hardware aspects, develop a joint vision for Software-Defined Vehicles, and provide guidance for current and future initiatives in this domain. The consortium includes major automotive companies, semiconductor firms, industry associations, and SDV initiatives. FEDERATE’s role involves facilitating collaboration, identifying key areas, and creating a roadmap for the future of vehicle technology.
