Share your view on the European Commission’s Inception Impact Assessment Roadmap
The European Commission is welcoming feedback for the Inception Impact Assessment Roadmap published under the European Partnership for safe and automated road transport (Horizon Europe Programme). Open for a period of four weeks (30 July – 27 August), all stakeholders are invited to provide feedback on the Commissions website. Following the end of the feedback period, the EC will release a synopsis summarising how the input will be incorporated as well as why some of the suggestions cannot be implemented. The next step scheduled for the third quarter of 2019 is a public consultation, followed by the Commission adoption in the first quarter of 2020.
The European Partnership for safe and automated road transport is in line with the 2018 initiative “On the Road to Automated Mobility: an EU Strategy for Mobility of the Future”. Through this initiative, the European Commission envisions a streamlining of all relevant research and innovation activities. The EU vision for the future is to bring down the number of road fatalities, reducing harmful emissions from transport and reducing congestion. When integrated into the transport system with supporting measures, driverless mobility is expected to significantly contribute to the achievement of these objectives as well as Vision Zero by 2050. In order to achieve this, the EU, Member States, regional and local authorities and private players need to work together.
The ARCADE project is funded under the Horizon 2020 programme. By coordinating consensus-building across stakeholders, ARCADE supports the vision of the EU being world leader in the deployment of automated and connected driving.
